MONROE, La.– Medical Laboratory Science Society andLifeShareBlood Center join together for a two-day blood drive on Tuesday,January 27and Wednesday,January 28to help save lives.
The blood drive will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.onbothdays inthe HangarBallroom A on the second floor of the SUB.
January is National Blood Donor Appreciation Month.Donors will receivetheir choice ofa freeLifeShareMardi Gras themed t-shirt oraLifeSharesweatshirtwhile supplies last.
Every two seconds, someone somewhere needs blood.LifeSharehas to collect approximately
500 units a day to meet patients’ blood needs throughout the community.
“Donating blood is a selfless act of service that strengthens our community by meeting a vital need for patients—a need that cannot be met otherwise,” said Katie Patrick, Assistant Professor of Medical Laboratory Science.
